| Cal Performances is pleased to present Dan Zanes at Zellerbach Hall on the University of California, Berkeley Campus! Saturday, March 6th, 11:00 a.m. & 4:00 p.m. * (Cal Performances and Kiddie Koncierge will be offering FREE tickets to the Saturday, March 6th 4:00 p.m. performance) Sunday, March 7th 3:00 pm* Dubbed "the Crown Prince of contemporary kids music" by People magazine, Dan Zanes is the former lead singer and songwriter for the famed Del Fuegos. But these days, he and his band perform lively, handmade music for enthusiastic crowds of kids and "kid sympathizers." Filled with irresistible grooves drawn from a wealth of musical traditions, Zanes, his Grammy-winning group, and his surprising and eclectic special guests, create a rollicking "Woodstock for Kids," including rousing American traditional songs, dance classics, and smart, inventive originals. His shows are a high-energy party, pure and simple. Kids usually don't hang too long in their seats and head to the mosh pit to dance along to this infectious music. The nice thing for parents is that the music is not the usual cloying kids songs but adult standards and folk tunes that parents can enjoy without getting cavities! * Tickets are half price for audience members age 16 and under for all Performances!
