Theater Season
Upcoming Subscription Events
It has only taken us a few years to figure this out, but not everyone
flies by the seat of their pants and occasionally, some like to plan.
So, we have gathered up the family programs from the top venues
around town. In some cases, tickets are available only on
subscription, for others, individual tickets are now available.
Cal Performances
Cal Performances never fails to have a great season of highly
engaging entertainment and enrichment events. Beyond music,
dance, drama, and other entertainment, Cal Performances
features great speakers, and other events. Most interesting is that
they have a School Time series where K-12 classes can see
special performances with presentations by some of the
principals for $4 a head. It is a truly special program and should
not be missed.
The Family Fare series is a wonderful way to catch top talent at a
reasonable price. Kids under 16 get in for half price on Family
Fare Performances.

Productions by this legendary, globe-roving Australian circus
company are spectacular, a hit with viewers young and old, and
very, very funny. Circus Oz's skilled performers serve up absurd
acrobatics, graceful aerial acts, and fast-paced knockabout
comedy, all to the rocking sound of the live Circus Oz band. So if
you're looking for something a little bit different, don't miss this
joyful brand of circus anarchy. With rave reviews and standing-
room-only crowds, the company's past visits to Zellerbach Hall
were unforgettable experiences! "It is hysterical and graceful,
awesome and intimate, weird and beautiful" (New York Daily
News).

successful works. Since it premiered in 2006, the production has
been a hit on six continents; in Switzerland alone, 145,000 dazzled
spectators cheered the company through 170 sold out
performances. "A place of constant wonder and ingenuity" (Boston

For the first time in its colorful history, the hugely popular
Canadian circus company embraces the world of urban culture
with a show set in a surreal futuristic city. The ensemble's new
program ID features 10 circus disciplines viewed against the
backdrop of hip-hop, rock music, and sci-fi videos, and combines
the company's signature uncanny physical feats—bicycle stunts,
trampoline routines, balancing acts, you name it!—and a gentle
sense of poetry. Especially popular with family audiences, the
company is always a hit in Zellerbach Hall! "Cirque Eloize's magic
brims with humanity" (The Boston Globe).
