Kiddie Koncierge: Summer Movies in the Parks
Summer Family Movies in the
Outdoors
Just can’t get enough of the movies?  There are all sorts of free
and nearly free movie ops throughout the Bay Area this summer
that don’t have the words “Blockbuster” in front of them.  Yes, you
probably have some or all of these movies on DVD or have already
seen them, but watching it outdoors with a picnic could be fun.
Besides, since when have the kids ever cared about 1) watching a
movie multiple times (that’s why you have it on DVD, right?) or 2)
not seeing the entire movie?  If the kids get bored, you leave.  They
haven’t missed anything.  Plan ahead for parking, warmth, and
nourishment.
Bear in mind that, since the majority of these are in
the outdoors at night, during the summer, nightfall may fall a little
late for some bed times.
 Plan accordingly.

Note:  This year budget constraints have cancelled a number of
these events.  We will keep track so check back from time to
time.

For your content reviewing convenience, each movie includes its
MPAA rating.  If you are interested in knowing more about the film ,
check out reviews in the
Film Reviews Section of Kiddie Koncierge
Resources for links to Rotten Tomatoes, Kids-In-Mind, and
Common Sense Media.

nature, but if you have older kids, it is probably OK.  The SoFA
shows will be preceded by live music in the Post Street
Summertime Blues Series.  For more details, visit

sjdowntown.com/Starlight_Cinemas.html.  For parking
information and directions, click on the SJ Parking site:
