What's New (May 11th 2012)
What We Like
Updated!
  • Sunday's solar eclipse will reach its maximum at 6:32 p.
    m. (although the moon's shadow will creep across the
    sun starting around 5:16). As always, don't look directly
    at the sun. We will see 84% coverage in the Bay Area. Not
    total, but still pretty awesome.  The SF Chronicle has
    some information on sites in the area where viewers can
    have access to special viewing equipment to catch the
    action (of course, two index cards and a pin hole work
    pretty well too!). The article also has bits on the upcoming
    solar transit (of Venus) and the rare occasion when Earth's
    shadow will be cast on the moon. Here is the full story:

    f=/c/a/2012/05/18/MN1D1OHQ43.DTL
  • Reminder: As of January 1st, 2012, the new California
    State Law is that every child under 8 years of age or 4'9"
    in height must be in a child passenger restraint (like a car
    seat) in the back seat of the vehicle.
